Snapchat Launches Snap to Store.

Did you know that 158 million people use Snapchat every day? Around 43% of those users live here in the U.S. In total that averages out to about 60 million viewers every day!

Snapchat allows businesses to publish ads here and there amongst people’s daily snaps which gives advertisers a chance to introduce their goods and services through Snapchat every day. Now Snapchat has taken that opportunity to the next level with a new app called “Snap to Store”.

Snap to Store is the newest app launch from Snapchat this year. The app allows advertisers to track consumer footing after they’ve posted a new ad on the app. Snap to Store is programmed to look at the increase in the number of people who go to stores after previewing an ad on Snapchat. Restaurants and fast food companies have already started testing the new app and have seen an increase in customers after just seven days.

Alongside Snap to Store, Snapchat also launched dashboard. Dashboard works with Snap to Store and is programmed to compare activities of people who see ads to those who don’t. Dashboard also calculates the number of visitors that enter consumer businesses, while also taking note of demographic information such as age, gender, and region.

Snap to Store uses location data, thanks to player PlaceIQ, which is a digital program that allows location information to be accessible whenever a user opens the app. Roughly 1,000 Snapchat users open the app within specific consumer hotspots. Research by Greenberg Strategy has shown that 80% of Snapchat users open the app at restaurants, while 66% open them at the mall, and 50% of users open the app at the gym.

These percentages are just the start to what social media can provide for consumer businesses in the future. Research firm Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung (GfK for short) has shown that Snapchat users tend to gain interest in a product through recommendations from their family and friends. The more people gathering product info on Snapchat and sharing it with others, the wider the information net.
